Radio U is a partnership program between the Media Institute for Social Change and
XRAY.FM radio station. The course presents instruction for the journalist, technical and artistic skills necessary to produce audio documentaries. Students will attend weekly seminars where they learn digital recording and editing. They'll also be introduced to a variety of radio shows, podcasts, and audio resources to study interview techniques and narrative structure. Each student will ultimately develop their own short audio documentary to be aired on “The Non-Profit Happy Hour” on XRAY.fm.
The Spring 2018 session will be offered on Tuesday evenings from February 27 - April 10 (with no classes on March 27; spring break!). Admission costs $60 per person. XRAY Members can take the course for $40. Most of the class sessions will be held at Citizen at 3636 N Mississippi Avenue, with special sessions at XRAY.fm studios.
Admission is rolling and applications from qualified candidates are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. It is therefore your advantage to submit a completed application as early as possible as there are limited slots available. Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
